No Senior Internationals, but Two (Sorta) in the Kiddie Squad!

Ok, so RBNY don’t have anyone at national camp right now. Yes, it’s a bummer, and we’d feel much cooler if only Renya would come out of retirement we had some representation. Fear not, however, because we do have some players getting ready to compete internationally — granted, they’re only at the U-20 level right now, but just wait until these suckers grow up — the RBNY name will be known around the world! Ahem, sorry. (Channeling the club PR there for a second.)
With an eye to continued preparation for the U-20 World Cup this summer, coach Thomas Rongen is holding a week-long training camp starting this Thursday; he’s called sixteen names in for the session, mixing professionals with college players. Among those on the list are our very own Joze Altidore and — wait for it — Gabriel Ferrari, who seems to be attending his first-ever youth national camp. Woo hoo! Alright, sure — he just left RBNY and is now with Sampdoria. Whatever. The boy came up in the Red Bull organization and is from NYC, so we get to be proud of him at least until he actually makes a non-cup first team appearance in Italy.
