Open Cup Date Set: We’re LA-Bound

As our beloved LA Beckhams Galaxy-blogging cousin Laurie reported last night, the next round of the US Open Cup has been set, and in it RBNY will face the Galaxy on May 8* at their place, just days after the Real Salt Lake match. Thank goodness the team will get a bit of rest between now and then, because that’s going to be one hell of a week: Games Saturday (@ RSL), late Tuesday (@ LA), and then Sunday afternoon (v Colorado). Even if Bruce rests some of the first team for the Cup match, with all the travel and playing there are going to be some tired legs out at the Meadowlands on Sunday.
Of course, if one of those sets of legs are slightly less tired and belong to a certain Columbian with a brand new work permit, that would give everyone a bit of a boost. (Who do we petition to expedite this? Dick Cheney? He controls pretty much everything, right?)
*At 10:30pm ET. TEN BLOODY THIRTY! If MLSnet offers this one, I’m going to need a long afternoon nap just to make it to the kickoff.
