The Big Apple Circus: Beckham Is Back

By: Dave Martinez | July 13th, 2009

Here we go!

MLS Ambassador David Beckham is back, and he is ready to play some soccer in his return to the United States. (That is, until some multimillion dollar team offers the model/actor/paparazzi machine/jersey peddler/business man/Spice Boy/footballer a multimillion dollar contract which will make this ambassadorship null and void)

Oh ya. He is bringing the Galaxy along for the ride too. (That is the team that used to wear green and gold kits, but now wears something of a Real Madrid looking get up. Oh, did I neglect to mention Beckham played for Real Madrid? My bad. I wonder if he will pay for the teams dinner? New York dining is expensive . . . )

And as if the game didn’t have enough significance, the sub plot, including the return of Metro Bull rejects Coach Bruce Arena, Todd Dunivant, Dema Kovalenko, Edson Buddle and Mike Magee will make for an interesting watch.

The game is this Thursday, and will be nationally televised on FSC a 8pm. Will you be attending the circus? Do you care? Share your thoughts.

I thought about boycotting but i think im going to attend with a banner saying something about firing the coach, gm, technical director, basically the whole team since the red bulls are the worst professional sports team I have ever laid eyes on

Also, I was happy LA beat Chivas, but I’d be really good with you taking them out to keep them from climbing further in the West. Thanks in advance!

NYRB is my team, but LA is the more organized, and if they play Birchell and Beckham, with Buddle, Donovan and Ricketts in goal…should be a plus 2 game for LA.

See my commentary above, plus 2 game for LA..listen when Larry speak, note what Larry writes. Anyway…here is the situation.

    1. NYRB defense is pitiful. The middle is weak. The first two goals, they watched the ball bounce and sat back as Esko and Cakes blasted it past Cepero.

    2. Jorge Rojas should be in the middle with Celades. Put Zimm left and the Jamaican right. Keep Angel and Mac up top.

Larry can do no wrong. Larry knows all.

    ;)

Tough being a RB fan today. Worse being an RB blogger lol.
